The Crypto Winter School is an annual, invite-only research school that brings together India’s cryptographic research community for intensive collaborative work. Each year a different institution hosts the event, making it a rotating forum for the national research community.
The school follows a Dagstuhl Seminar-style format: mornings are reserved for invited lectures from eminent cryptographers, while afternoons are set aside for focused group discussions and collaborative research. Participants are deliberately placed into small groups built around shared topics, mixing experienced researchers with budding students – the format is designed for depth, not mere attendance.
The Crypto Winter School was established in 2025 at IIT Bhilai. It brings together seasoned experts and emerging scholars from across all sub-areas of cryptology, and aims to cultivate meaningful collaboration and knowledge exchange within India’s cryptography research landscape.
